
THE
VINCE LYDDANE MEMORIAL TROPHY
Vince Lyddane was a life long Day Sailor who continued
to strive for improvement while sailing and competing within the waters of the
West Coast and environs.
INTENT – THIS AWARD RECOGNIZES A WEST COAST DAY SAILOR,
"B – FLEET" SKIPPER, WHO DEMONSTRATES IMPROVEMENT.
1 – This trophy to be awarded yearly at the High Sierra
regatta/Huntington Lake, CA.
(Awarded within the B – Fleet only.)
2 – Only West Coast Day Sailors are eligible for the Vince Lyddane
Memorial Trophy.
(Day Sailors who reside within the states of Washington, Oregon or California.)
3 – This Trophy cannot be bestowed on the same individual twice.
4 - The winning of a place trophy at the High Sierra Regatta renders that
individual
ineligible for the Vince Lyddane Trophy within that calendar year.
5 - The trophy will be awarded to the skipper/crew whose last race
finishing position is
most improved as compared to their first race finishing position.
(DNF, DNS should not be used in scoring.)
Tie-Breaker …… Priority will be granted to the skipper who finished farthest from first place at the end of the first race. Example-

Suggestions –
-The award to be shared by skipper and crew; to
remain with each 6 months of the year.
-The brass plate to be engraved with both the
name of the winning skipper and that of his/her crew.
